The Democratic Party of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin passed a CEASEFIRE resolution on February 18, 2024

Democratic Party of Milwaukee County Calls for an Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza 

WHEREAS, 64 Congress members call for immediate ceasefire in Gaza, with Pocan “warning that without one, this war leads to further loss of civilian life and risks dragging the U.S. into unwise conflict.”

WHEREAS, 23,000+ Palestinians have been killed, 2/3 women and minors.

WHEREAS, collective punishment of Palestinians is an egregious violation of humanitarian law and is, according to South Africa’s ICJ case, genocide.

WHEREAS, the U.N. Secretary General, General Assembly, WHO, Jewish Voice for Peace, and 80% of Democrats, according to polls, support an immediate ceasefire.

THEREFORE, RESOLVED, DPMC calls for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire.    

Note: The following state elected officials in Senate and Assembly sponsored a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza: Larson, Hong, Madison, Clancy, Joers, Myers, Shelton, Stubbs & Wichgers. (10)  The number of murdered civilian Palestinians continues to grow. The U.N. Secretary General, and the UN. General Assembly, have called for an immediate ceasefire. The U.N. Security Council Resolution for a ceasefire was blocked by the United States. There is also a resolution for a ceasefire being sponsored by Milwaukee County Supervisors.
