The Yurok Tribal Council (located in California) called for a CEASEFIRE on December 2, 2023

Today, the Yurok Tribal Council issued a call for a cease fire and an end to the violence that is currently taking place in the Middle East. The Tribal Council is especially concerned about the needless killing of innocent civilians. Too many elders, women and children have died already. It is equally tragic to see thousands of people leaving their homes, while entire communities face an uncertain future. We have endured mass violence, displacement and attempted genocide. The trauma caused by these devastating events continues to reverberate through our community. For these reasons, we are calling for a swift and equitable end to the conflict.

As people, we need to find a way to live in harmony with one another and the planet. Future generations are depending on us to restore balance and create a more prosperous and just world. Please help us amplify this message of peace and call for a cease fire.
